Winter roads maintenance, including salt spreaders, snow ploughs and snow blowers, is a vital service for all road users. The Mercedes-Benz Unimog incorporates the latest technology, plus rugged reliability, to provide a practical and cost-effective solution in the most difficult weather conditions.

The front PTO provides up to 175Kw (238hp) of power to drive snowploughs with up to three metres of clearing width, or fast-acting, heavy duty snow blowers; and the rear payload and additional PTO will carry and drive a range of salt spreaders.

The Unimog has permanent all-wheel drive, differential locks in front and rear axles, disc brakes on all four wheels, anti-lock braking system and a range of specifically developed tyres and/or snow chains for each wheel. Superb traction and complete control on ice or snow means that snow clearing is easy, with its synchromesh quick-change forwards and reverse system EQR with pre-selector.

And for the driver, the heat-insulated, composite fibre cab with exceptional vision through the deep and wide windscreen and deep-drawn side windows, also has programmable auxiliary heating as well as seat and windscreen heating. It also has a heated air-dryer, engine block pre-heating and heavy duty generator – all supplied ex-factory.
