EvoBus UK have supplied French RATP owned London Operator London United with their first ever order for seven Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses. The Citaro’s will be based at London United’s Hounslow Garage, making its highly anticipated debut on the 3rd September. The vehicles will be deployed on the route 203, which operates between Hounslow and Staines. David Warrilow from Mercedes Benz Bus Sales commented ‘We are delighted that London United has decided to put their trust in Mercedes-Benz to deliver the Citaro’s on time and to the agreed specification. London United is highly regarded as one of the leading bus operators based in the capital. They have been nationally recognised for the high level of service they provide on their buses and have in the past been awarded with the title of Public Transport Operator of the Year at the prestigious London transport awards.
The Mercedes Benz Citaro is 12 metres long and has 2 passenger doors for optimum convenience when boarding and leaving the vehicle. The vehicle is certified to EU regulation 107.02, whilst incorporating equipment for disabled persons ensuring the vehicle is user friendly for all. The Citaros will be powered by the well proven Mercedes-Benz OM906 (h) LA engine specified to EEV emission levels. ZF Transmission and rear axle complete the drive train. The vehicle has an array of safety features including a traction control system.
