The second generation of specialists

EvoBus GmbH brings two brands under one roof
In February 1995, exactly 100 years after Karl Benz invented the bus, Daimler-Benz buses entered a new era when Daimler-Benz combined its Bus and Coach Unit with the Bus Division of Kässbohrer to form a new subsidiary, EvoBus GmbH. The two brands Mercedes-Benz and Setra continued to operate separately on the market.

In the years that followed however production was synchronised, based on the long-standing production sites in Mannheim and Ulm and a joint development centre in Ulm. Coordinated production started just two years after the formation of EvoBus, with the centralisation in Mannheim of all body-in-white and dip priming activities for Mercedes-Benz coaches and rural-service buses and Setra multi-purpose and twin-axle buses. Final assembly and top coat application takes place in Ulm and Neu-Ulm. There are further manufacturing bases in all over Europe.
