 | | | Integro: First new product under the new holding company. |
As early as 1996, one year after EvoBus GmbH was set up, the Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach division presented a new interurban bus. It still had the code O 550, but as the first of a completely new generation of Mercedes-Benz buses it also had a new name: the Integro.
As successor to the O 408, the new bus fulfils requirements both as an interurban bus and as a vehicle for excursions. Typical of the Integro styling is the waistline, which sweeps forward into the entry door. This was in sharp contrast with the angular standard interurban bus.
Soon afterwards the 15-metre long Integro L and the Integro M with an even higher passenger capacity joined the range.
