Large-capacity urban bus produced in 2007

Produced in 2007
First introduced as a prototype at the end of 2006, the low-floor large-capacity regular-service bus Mercedes‑Benz CapaCity is now ready for series production. With its concept as a four-axle and four-door articulated bus with a single articulation and a Euro 4 engine, the 19.54 m long CapaCity is starting a new chapter in the history of large-capacity urban public transit buses.

The new Mercedes‑Benz CapaCity demonstrates how attractive and economical a transport system bus can be. As a large-capacity vehicle which does not depend on rails, it combines advantages typical of buses, such as high flexibility and economy, with tram-type features such as high transport capacity. As such the CapaCity is ideally suited to function as a component of innovative transport systems and is a welcome addition to existing tram systems.
