 | The Swiss postal service marks the 100th birthday of its wholly owned subsidiary PostAuto Schweiz AG with a special series of three stamps available since 7 March 2006 at all post offices and philatelic sales outlets in Switzerland.
The 85 rappen stamp shows a touring coach, the 1.30 franc stamp a mini school bus, and the 1 franc stamp a Mercedes-Benz Citaro regular-service bus. This 28 x 33 mm stamp and the Citaro inscribed on it simultaneously honour the Swiss subsidiary of EvoBus GmbH: EvoBus (Switzerland) AG, in charge of the sale of Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses and coaches, headquartered in Kloten (Zurich), celebrates ten years of extremely successful work this year.
The stamps and the Mercedes-Benz buses have many things in common. “Both look upon a long tradition, are used every day by millions of people, cover thousands of kilometres in all parts of the world every day, and are the guarantee of dependable conveyance”, says Elsa Baxter, Manager Stamps/Philately and member of the enlarged corporate management of the Swiss postal service.
This is why PostAuto Schweiz AG has purchased its new buses mainly from EvoBus (Switzerland) AG in the past years. “The post bus is a hallmark of Switzerland, just like the Matterhorn”, says Heinz A. Mader, spokesman of the Board of Directors of EvoBus (Switzerland) AG, adding: “With its yellow colour it is the epitome of reliability, punctuality and safety – values which passengers very much appreciate. We are convinced we can continue to make an essential contribution to the attractiveness and efficiency of PostAuto Schweiz AG with our comfortable vehicles.” |
