 | | | It is extremely quiet and drives smoothly |
| But other than that, nobody can tell just what the Mercedes‑Benz Citaro with fuel cell drive has in store. |
The step from a prototype to the first small series is what makes the difference: the Mercedes‑Benz fuel cell bus fleet with 30 buses in the series is proof of just how seriously Daimler AG and EvoBus are taking this new drive technology. The series production vehicles are consistently put to use for testing the fuel cell based on tried and tested technology. The buses have room for over 60 passengers. The fuel cell Citaro drives quietly and smoothly, but other than that, passengers won’t even notice they are riding with a revolutionary powertrain system.
The fuel cells with their peripherals are completely stowed behind an elegant covering on the roof. Located there among other items are the fuel cell stacks of the current type Mark 900 from the leading Canadian company Ballard, in which Daimler AG has an interest. |
