Whether you have chosen from the highly efficient Mercedes range for your fleet or not, you can play a role in reducing emissions. By passing on guidelines to your drivers, you can encourage greener, more efficient driving. Fuel consumption can be reduced in the same way, so you can benefit financially too.

Minimise sharp acceleration and heavy braking
Keep revs low – change up before 2,500rpm (petrol) and 2,000rpm (diesel)
Avoid short journeys – a cold engine uses twice as much fuel as a warm one
Don’t speed – driving at 70mph uses 25% less fuel than at 86mph, and can save £5 on a 100 mile motorway journey
Use air conditioning sparingly
Maintain regular service intervals – change filters often, and check your tyre pressure – under-inflated tyres can use 3% extra fuel
