Ever since corporation tax write-down allowances underwent a major overhaul in April 2009, vehicles’ CO2 emissions have become all-important. Companies can now write off just 10% of owned vehicle cost against tax for cars emitting 160 g/km CO2 or more. In contrast, cars with emissions of 160 g/km or under qualify for a 20% write-down allowance.
So fleet managers will be pleased to hear that Mercedes-Benz offers an increasingly wide choice of petrol and diesel vehicles within this sub-160 g/km category. And not just our smaller vehicles such as the A-Class – many of our larger, more powerful and luxurious models also fit the bill. For example, the supremely agile C-Class Saloon offers CO2 emissions as low as 117 g/km.
Perhaps more surprisingly, all members of the luxurious E-Class lineup – from the Saloon to the Cabriolet - offer sub-160 g/km variants. Even the E-Class Estate, with its vast, class-leading load capacity of up to 1,950 litres, emits as little as 136 g/km CO2.
