Ever since corporation tax write-down allowances underwent a major overhaul in April 2009, vehicles’ CO2 emissions have become all-important. But from April 2012 companies can now write off only 18% of owned vehicle cost against tax for cars emitting 111-160 g/km. In contrast, cars with emissions of more than 160 g/km qualify for just 8% of write-down allowance.
So fleet managers will be pleased to hear that Mercedes-Benz now offers an increasingly wide choice of petrol and diesel vehicles with CO2 emissions of 111 g/km and below. And not just our smaller vehicles such as the new efficient A-Class – many of our larger, more powerful and luxurious models also fit the bill. For example, the supremely agile C-Class Saloon offers CO2 emissions as low as 109 g/km.
