In case of an accident

Stay calm. You’re no help to yourself or others if you panic.

If nobody is hurt

Give each other your:

If someone leaves the scene of the accident without exchanging details, call the police. Get the names, addresses and vehicle registrations of any witnesses, making sure to exchange your:

  • Name, address and telephone number.
  • Vehicle registration.
  • Insurance company and policy number.
  • If you have a camera to hand, take photos at the scene of the accident. If you don’t have a camera, make a detailed sketch of the area, noting street names, skid marks, etc. Write down any other information, i.e. if the other driver was using a mobile phone at the time of the accident.
