We are convinced that an engine will really only deliver top performance if the manufacturing process is extremely precise and meticulous. That is why every single Mercedes-AMG engine is built applying the same philosophy: one man, one engine. Every single engine, from the very first to the very last bolt, is assembled carefully and precisely in Affalterbach by one and the same AMG technician. This complex production process is subject to stringent quality controls. Only materials that have been carefully checked are allowed into our production facility.

This applies to every engine, including the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in series production in the world, found in the SLS AMG. Regardless of whether it’s the fitting of the crankshaft in the engine block, the camshaft installation, the wiring or filling up with engine oil: the same experienced AMG technician does it all, and documents his work by signing off on the AMG engine badge.
