Fitted as standard, the compact 6-speed manual transmission delivers effortless gear changes with low shift forces and reduced internal friction. A shift point indicator tells you the ideal time to change gear, improving fuel economy and reducing emissions.

The optional 7G-DCT seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission is equally impressive. Available in the B-Class for the first time, the versatile system offers seamless changes, skipping gears when necessary to maintain optimum engine speeds. 7G-DCT comes with the Direct Select shift lever, steering wheel shift paddles and cruise control.

To enhance ride comfort, both set-ups have hydraulic damping integrated into the transmission mount.
