The latest CL 500 BlueEFFICIENCY features an entirely redesigned 320 kW (435 hp) V8 petrol engine with twin turbochargers, bringing new levels of performance and efficiency to the luxury coupé sector.

Engineered to minimise emissions and fuel consumption without compromising power, the BlueEFFICIENCY unit incorporates an array of energy-saving technologies. These range from third-generation spray guided direct petrol injection to energy-efficient power-assisted steering and low-rolling resistance tyres. ECO Start/Stop is fitted to help save fuel in heavy traffic.

As a result, the CL 500 BlueEFFICIENCY achieves a 21% improvement in fuel economy over its predecessor, with CO2 emissions dropping from 288 g/km to 227 g/km. Meanwhile, power has increased significantly - torque has risen from 530 Nm to an impressive 700 Nm.

The new AMG 5.5 litre V8 biturbo engine in the stunning CL 63 AMG offers outstanding performance with 400 kW (544 hp) and 800 Nm of torque with a 0-62 mph time of only 4.5 seconds. ECO start/stop also offers improved fuel efficiency and brings emissions down to 244 g/km.
