The CL 500 comes with 7G-Tronic transmission – another world first for Mercedes-Benz. Here the faster, smoother gear changes are a result of seven forward gears which maintain an optimal, close-ratio configuration. This means lower fuel consumption – and far less noise.

The CL 600 has a 5-speed automatic transmission, with a responsive electronic management system.

As for the CL 63 AMG, it also has 7G-Tronic automatic transmission, but also includes a responsive electronic management system, and AMG Speedshift.

All models come as standard with Speedtronic cruise control, a Direct Select steering column gear selector as well as steering wheel mounted gearshift paddles. There’s also a comfort programme, whereby the car always sets off in second gear. A smoother, not to mention safer, way of driving.
