For an enhanced and more responsive driving experience, the CLS-Class features the multi-functional Adaptive Brake system – incorporating a range of advanced braking technologies including:

-HOLD function and Hill Start Assist to prevent rolling back.
-Brake drying - which removes moisture that can accumulate on brake discs in wet conditions, thereby reducing braking distances.
-Brake priming – which closes the gap between the brake discs and pads as soon as the driver lifts their foot from the accelerator. This anticipation again helps reduce the stopping distance when the brakes are subsequently applied.
-Adaptive brake lights - which start flashing to warn the traffic behind when the driver is braking in an emergency, and hazard warning lights which are activated automatically once the vehicle has come to a standstill.
