The CLS-Class is kitted out to take extra care of its passengers. Extra sensor systems are inbuilt to ensure an appropriate response to an accident. The driver and front passenger seat belts have adaptive force limiters as standard. These give extra restraint as and when you need it, slackening after impact to prevent restriction.

Front head restraints are crash sensitive and move forwards and upwards to help cushion the head and reduce the chance of whiplash. Rear passenger seats are equipped with belt force limiters, and a roll-over sensor activates all belt tensioners and both windowbags when certain types of roll-over are detected.
