Fitted as standard is the digitally controlled automatic climate control system which provides effective, draught-free ventilation throughout the interior. Functions include air recirculation, a tunnel switch and a rest button for heating/ventilating the interior when the engine is switched off (Avantgarde and Sport models).

For added comfort for all passengers, the optional 4-zone luxury automatic climate control (standard on E 500 and E 63 AMG) features temperature adjustment for all four zones; it includes a special control unit with a display for rear passengers, a 4-quadrant solar sensor for automatic temperature correction and a combined dust and charcoal filter.
