It works by building a profile of your driving style and adapting accordingly. If it detects a sporty touch at the wheel, then the throttle valve will open relatively quickly to make the vehicle more agile in its response.

Conversely, a gentler, more economical approach will result in a suitably slower opening of the throttle valve.
