Pre-Safe® incorporates systems which anticipate danger and are able to initiate protective measures as a precaution. As well as the reversible seat-belt tensioners for the driver and front passenger, Pre-Safe® includes functions for automatic closing of the side windows and the optional fixed glass sunroof.

Furthermore, if the E-Class is equipped with a passenger seat memory function, the front-passenger seat is moved into the safest possible position if imminent danger is detected.

Pre-Safe® is activated in the event of emergency braking, heavy oversteer or understeer and sudden steering movements when travelling at high speed.
