A true off-road legend, the G-Class has proved itself time and again in some of the most hostile driving conditions on earth. Key to its success is a permanent four-wheel drive system that distributes torque through three differential locks – front, centre and rear. Each of these can be engaged independently to maximise traction.

For the ultimate in long distance comfort, the Seat Comfort Package includes multi-contour, climatised seats for driver and front seat passenger. Multi-contour seats incorporate independently adjustable air chambers for optimum support. The climatised function uses fans integrated into the upholstery to cool or warm the seat surface, depending on conditions.

No matter how harsh the conditions outside, the G-Class interior is a haven of comfort and calm. After dark, this sense of peace is enhanced by Ambient Lighting, a collection of subtle lighting elements distributed around the cabin. Drivers can select five levels of brightness and a choice of three colour tones to suit their mood.

When tackling difficult ground, the G-Class has an ace up its sleeve: 4ETS. This advanced traction control system senses when one of the tyres loses traction and immediately applies the brakes to that wheel. Engine torque is then channelled to the wheels that do have grip – even if it’s just one of them – ensuring the G-Class gets power to the ground.
