Ride quality and comfort are further enhanced by optional AirMATIC air suspension (standard on ML 420 CDI, ML 500 and ML 63 AMG). This features self-levelling control and three different ride heights. AirMATIC keeps the vehicle at a constant ride height regardless of vehicle load. The vehicle is automatically lowered at high speeds to reduce drag and fuel consumption. In addition, ground clearance can be manually increased on rough off-road terrain.
