With its rack-and-pinion steering with hydraulic power assistance, the R-Class provides extremely precise steering characteristics and exceptionally responsive driver feedback.

Speed-sensitive power steering is fitted as standard on all models with the standard-version steering column featuring manual depth and height adjustment.

The optional Memory Package includes an electrically adjustable steering column with an overall depth adjustment range of 60 millimetres and an overall height adjustment range of 50 millimetres.

Anti-theft protection is provided by an electrically powered steering lock connected to the ignition switch.
