In the crucial seconds before most accidents, there is a detectable event such as skidding or braking. This is when Mercedes-Benz Pre-Safe® system springs into action.

If Pre-Safe® is triggered, the driver and front passenger seat belts are tightened by electric reversible seat belt pre-tensioners and the sunroof is automatically closed. With the optional Memory Package, the front seat automatically moves to a safer position. If the accident is avoided, the reversible seat belt pre-tensioners return to their original setting.
