With former world champion Lewis Hamilton now on board, the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team is looking to impress in the 2013 F1™ season.

Hamilton will race alongside Nico Rosberg – an old rival from his karting days – and both drivers are determined to re-establish the Silver Arrows team as a major force in Formula One™.

Though pre-season testing in Jerez, Spain, got off to a less-then-perfect start – Hamilton suffered a rear-brake failure on the opening day and Rosberg’s car also had problems – the signs since have been positive. With Rosberg at the wheel, the Mercedes W04 car set the quickest time in testing, and Hamilton wasn’t far behind.

During the build-up to the season opener in Australia though, Hamilton was keeping his feet firmly on the ground. “We exist to win and all the guys are working to win but we also have to be realistic and we don't know where we are,” he said. “Other people are talking us up at the moment but who knows what we are going to do?”

So can the Mercedes team deliver on its undoubted potential? Only time will tell. But with two outstanding drivers at the wheel and so much expertise, experience and passion behind the scenes at the Brackley HQ, these are certainly exciting times for the Silver Arrows.
