The Actros is a model of safety: for example, the optional Active Brake Assist active safety system and the proven Telligent® brake system provide short stopping distances whenever required*. Telligent® proximity control automatically regulates speed and following distance. Other safety systems, such as Telligent® Lane Assistant and Telligent® stability control* or Telligent® roll control are virtually indispensable in long-distance haulage.
Cab safety includes clear-lens headlamps which are optimally aligned for extremely wide road illumination. The standard** rain and light sensor automatically activates the windscreen wipers when it begins to rain and automatically switches on the headlamps when entering a tunnel, for example. Visibility is further improved at the front and rear by the standard-specification heated front-view mirror, which gives the driver an excellent view of the area directly in front of the cab, and the large, heated exterior rear-view mirrors, the heating function of which can be switched on and off manually.
