At the UK’s most prestigious annual award event, “The Motor Transport Awards” the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Division scored a hat-trick and stormed the stage scooping three of the industry’s most coveted accolades:
Fleet Van of the Year - Mercedes-Benz Sprinter; Fleet Truck of the Year – Mercedes-Benz Axor Dealer of the Year – Northside Truck & Van Leeds, Sheffield, Doncaster.
The event saw over 1,400 people from the commercial vehicle industry gather to witness the ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
Ian Jones, Commercial Vehicles Managing Director said: “What a fantastic evening. A true indication that both our products and our Dealer network are exactly what the market requires.
“Axor, a truck designed for Britain, fought off strong competition from Volvo, Scania, MAN and DAF. While the New Sprinter once again proved that it’s the best van range on the market today.”
In addition to the awards for Axor and Sprinter, Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle dealer group, Northside Truck and Van were shortlisted for Dealer of the Year – which they also won, again beating the best that MAN and DAF could offer.
Tim Ward, Managing Director at Northside Truck and Van said: “The Northside Group have once again proved consummate professionals. Our sales, service and parts departments have all demonstrated that they deliver what the market demands and this is dedicated service. What a wonderful evening!”
The prestigious Motor Transport Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of the industry and recognise innovation, outstanding service, efficiency and quality. They are judged by an independent panel of experts from the industry. The judges are chosen because they know the difference between what is common in the industry and what is truly outstanding and deserves to be rewarded.
Each category is judged by its own panel normally comprising around four people selected from the industry for their expertise. A representative of Motor Transport chairs the meeting but does not vote unless there is a tie. Some panels, however, can be much larger; the Fleet Truck of the Year panel comprises more than 20 people. |
