 | Because the axles of a truck bear all the load, we have always given them special attention.
The Econic is fitted with air-sprung axles with extremely precise axle location, outstanding ride comfort and stable steering behaviour.
Together with the wide air bag spacing, a stabiliser link combining the two functions of axle location and roll stability reduces the vehicle's tendency to roll.
The rear axle choice is the 13 tonnes hub reduction axle, standard-fitted with disc brakes and differential lock.
The 26t versions are available with electronically-hydraulically controlled mid or rear steer axles, the 6x4 configuration features a hub reduction bogie with inter axle and cross axle differential locks.
The new Econic 8x4 features the same rear hub reduction double-drive bogie as the Econic 6x4 with a mid stear axle fitted just in front. This rear tri-axle arrangement has a plated weight of 24t which when combined with the standard 8t front axle gives an impressive 32t gross vehicle weight and a hight body/payload allowance. |
