| The Telligent® brake system results in very short stopping distances. It is based on an electronically controlled 10-bar dual-circuit brake system with ABS and ASR, and auxiliary brakes such as the engine brake and optional retarder.
Vehicles intended for use mainly on the road are equipped with disc brakes all round. 3-axle tippers, 4-axle tippers and all-wheel-drive vehicles are equipped with drum brakes, to eliminate the risk of mud and stones getting between the brake calliper and brake disc and damaging the brakes.
The Telligent® brake system also equalises brake lining wear on the different axles, while the involvement of the engine brake or retarder in the braking process prolongs lining life.
A new convenience feature, fitted as standard, is 'hill hold'. Hill hold ensures trouble-free hill starting by preventing the vehicle from inadvertently rolling forwards or backwards. |
