With three suspension variants available - air, steel / air or steel - the Actros fulfils every requirement one can make of a modern vehicle: high roll stability and ride stability, precise directional stability, suspension comfort you can feel and maximum traction.
The air suspension of the Actros with the bags fitted wide apart on the axle improves roll behaviour, thereby enhancing stability. The air suspension has Telligent® level control fitted as standard, a system that really stands out thanks to its large raising and lowering heights. This proves an advantage when using swap bodies with different ground clearances, for example. Telligent® roll control is available as an option for chassis with full air suspension. This automatic shock absorber control system ensures more comfort, enhanced safety and a smoother ride for the freight.
Steel-sprung Actros trucks are fitted with low-noise parabolic springs with maintenance-free molecular rubber mounts. These springs are up to 40% lighter than conventional trapezoidal springs. In addition to this, all vehicles are fitted as standard with shock absorbers and front and rear axle stabilisers which are specifically matched to the vehicle GVW. It's also worth mentioning that the leaf-spring suspension is protected against corrosion by zinc dust paint, one of the major factors behind the long service life of the entire spring system. |
