 | | The Telligent® brake system consists of a dual-circuit brake system with 10 bar air pressure, disc brakes on all wheels, ABS, ASR and auxiliary brakes such as the engine and exhaust brake. The system forwards each brake signal at the speed of light - much faster than any mechanical system could. This ensures very quick reaction times with immediate application of the brakes.
There is controlled distribution of the braking effort between the tractor and trailer to make sure the trailer 'pulls its weight', depending on the vehicle load. Furthermore, the Telligent® brake system ensures that there is no uneven brake wear on any given axle and can give up to 30% shorter braking distances.
The integrated auxiliary brake function means that, when the service brake is used, the engine brake (constantly open throttle valve and exhaust brake) and the retarder (if fitted) are activated automatically. |
