A Sheffield company that provided safety back-up during construction of the new Wembley Stadium roof put its trust in Mercedes-Benz when it decided to replace its ageing vans.
Sheffield’s High Access Solutions has bought four pre-owned Mercedes Sprinters from city dealer Northside Truck & Van.
The one-year-old Sprinter 311CDIs bristle with standard active and passive safety features designed to offer the highest possible degree of protection to their occupants and other road users.
These include the latest Adaptive version of ESP® anti-skid system pioneered by Mercedes-Benz and Bosch, which dynamically monitors the vehicle’s load status while it is on the move.
The speed of the vans is also electronically limited to 60mph, to reduce emissions and cut down on wear and tear.
All Long-bodied, high-roof models, the latest Mercedes have replaced four older Sprinters that have clocked-up an impressive one million miles between them.
High Access Solutions had no hesitation in choosing high-quality pre-owned Sprinters, which had been maintained by specialists within the Mercedes-Benz dealer network.
“We’ve been running used Sprinters since 2005,” says Operations Director Paul Forster, “having bought our first four from Northside Truck & Van when they were 18 months old. They proved fantastically reliable and had done around 250,000 miles each when we finally traded them in.”
High Access Solutions was launched in 2003 and provides a comprehensive range of inspection, maintenance and repair services in difficult-to-access areas such as confined spaces and tall structures.
Operating through the UK, the firm has worked with all of the major construction companies; a recent assignment took its technicians to the outskirts of Paris, where they were involved in the construction of a new dome at the latest Center Parcs development.
The company’s 40 highly trained specialists are supported by a comprehensive range of industrial safety and rope access equipment. Transport is provided by its four Sprinters, with the company looking at increasing the fleet by another three as demand for its services continues to grow.
“Safety is our business so of course we insist upon safety and reliability in our vehicles,” explains Mr Forster. “Our ‘new’ Sprinters are very comfortable and easy to drive and our guys just love them.”
High Access Solutions is also delighted with the service it has received from Northside Truck & Van, which it relies upon to maintain its Sprinters.
“We’ve tried the odd back street garage but they just can’t compete with Northside when it comes to servicing our vehicles out of hours,” adds Mr Forster. “We sometimes have to drop our vehicles off at 7pm and pick them up at 4am, and the dealer invariably manages to fit us in.” |
