Hi-Speed Sprinters are high-mileage heroes

When your vans clock-up around 100,000 miles a year you need a vehicle you can rely on. So it’s no surprise that Hi-Speed Services puts its faith in Mercedes-Benz.

The company, which is based at Ash, near Aldershot, has been running vehicles bearing the famous three-pointed star for 10 years. It has just invested in another six of the best – half a dozen Long-bodied Mercedes Sprinter 311CDIs, which were supplied by Crawley dealer Rossetts Commercials.

Hi-Speed Services collects and delivers all types of goods across UK and Europe on a same-day basis, including high value consignments. Its regular customers include several ‘blue chip’ businesses, among them British Aerospace, Unipart and The White Company.

Established in 1986, Hi-Speed Services also has a depot in Rugby and a network of local offices throughout the midlands and the south of England.

It operates over 40 vehicles, ranging from motorbikes and small vans up to 18-tonne Mercedes Axor rigid trucks with curtainside bodies, and two 44-tonne Mercedes Actors tractor units.

But the backbone of the fleet are its 26 Sprinters, a combination of Medium and Long-bodied high-roofed panel vans and box-bodied Lutons. All are equipped with digital phone and satellite tracking systems.

“Our Sprinters routinely cover up to 200,000 plus miles before we stand them down,” says Managing Director Ian Dawkins. “And as long as they’re serviced regularly, we never have any problems with them.”

Mr Dawkins continues: “Our drivers are in their vehicles all day and we want them to have the most comfortable and easy to drive vans available. The Sprinter fits the bill perfectly.

“As an operator, we’ve found them to be excellent. No other manufacturer can offer the same degree of reliability, backed by the reassurance of a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty.”

Hi-Speed Services is equally pleased with the service from Rossetts Commercials. “The dealer has been amazingly helpful,” adds Mr Dawkins. “Its 24-hour service operation is particularly invaluable because it means we can get our vans serviced overnight and back on the road again next morning, so they’re always available when we need them.”

And he concludes: “Our business is growing every year and our fleet of Sprinters will continue to grow with it.”
