 | Green-fingered firm Tim Fellows Landscaping has a blossoming love of its new fleet of Mercedes vans.
The Chester-based commercial gardening business has bought six Sprinters – two 211CDI Short panel vans, a 311CDI Long van, and three 311CDI tippers, one of which has a new seven-man crewcab.
Supplied by Liverpool dealer Road Range Commercials, the new fleet replaces an assortment of vehicles by other manufacturers.
Managing Director Tim Fellows says: “The great thing about the Sprinter, apart from its all-round quality, safety and unrivalled reputation for reliability, is the extent of choice and variety within the range. We have three different models in our fleet of six, which suit all sides of the business.”
The tippers are used to deliver materials such as soil, mulch and sand to sites, while the panel vans transport turf and shrubs.
Mr Fellows adds: “My staff appreciate the benefits of a spacious, comfortable cab, as well as the Sprinter’s many safety features, which is important because of the distances they often have to travel.”
Mr Fellows founded the business on his own but now employs 18 people, undertaking landscaping projects for major property developers at sites as far afield as Oxford in the south and Lancaster in the north.
The new-generation Mercedes Sprinter was launched last year. Combining dynamic good looks, ‘bullet-proof’ build quality, comprehensive specification and ingenious technology, the range cost £1.25 billion (1.8 billion euro) and took a team of 400 design engineers five years to develop. The result is a triumph, a vehicle that sets new standards in terms of productivity, refinement and safety.
Highlights of the range include best-in-class side-loading door widths, outstanding ergonomics and comfort, a powerful and clean CDI diesel engine line-up topped by a storming 184hp 3.0-litre V6, and an advanced new version of the remarkable ESP® anti-skid system called Adaptive ESP®. |
