| Pulling power is what counts when accelerating and driving uphill. And this is where the Vario 618D/818D really comes into its own: the flagship engine develops 130 kW (177 hp) and can send 675 Nm to the wheels via a tried-and-tested 6-speed transmission.
This power plant is available for all 4x2 models. The other models are not exactly lacking in the torque department either: the 4.2-litre direct injection models squeeze an impressive 520 Nm or 580 Nm from 100 kW (136 hp) and 110 kW (150 hp) respectively.
All the engines comfortably meet Euro 3 emission requirements. |
