 | Cheshire firm Acorn Environment Services has sown the seeds of a new relationship with Mercedes-Benz by taking delivery of two new tippers.
Supplied by Trafford Park dealer Enza, the 3.5-tonne Sprinter 311CDIs are fitted with cage tipper bodies, lockable tool boxes with roller shutter doors and 500kg tail-lifts, by specialist bodybuilder Omega Commercials, of Bolton.
Based in Hazel Grove, Stockport, Acorn provides property clearance, waste disposal, recycling and some property maintenance services across Manchester. It works for social housing providers including Stockport Council, and also operates a pest control division.
In addition to their class-leading three-year, unlimited mileage warranties, its new Mercedes also came – like all new Sprinters currently – with extra cover in the shape of a Mercedes-Benz Service Package. This provides free servicing for five years or 60,000 miles (whichever is reached sooner), including all labour costs and most parts, apart from wear-and-tear items.
Acorn’s first vehicles to wear the famous three-pointed star – the company also runs four other 3.5-tonne tippers –have been quick to impress Managing Director Roger Wilkson. “They’re very well-built, high quality machines and the free service cover is a major point in their favour,” he says.
“Sprinters might not be the cheapest up front but we believe their low running costs and excellent reliability will make them very cost-effective in the long term.” |
