Aquaflow freshens up with Mercedes-Benz

Kent firm Aquaflow Drainage Services Ltd is flushing out its old vans and cleaning up its image by switching to a new Mercedes-Benz fleet.

The company, which is based in Denton, on the outskirts of Canterbury, has just bought a Vito 115CDI Compact and four larger Sprinter 311CDI Mediums.

The new vans arrived via Sittingbourne dealer Sparshatts of Kent, which also supplied another Vito and a Sprinter earlier in the year.

Managing Director Keith Borrett is moving all 17 of his company’s vans over to the three-pointed star after a series of bad experiences with vehicles bought from another manufacturer. Aquaflow has three more Sprinters on order.

“I’ve always like Mercedes-Benz,” he explains. “Its reputation for quality and reliability underpins the image that we are trying to project for our own company.”

Aquaflow specialises in drainage, sewer repairs, CCTV inspections, excavation and renovation, and provides a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week service in London and the South East, venturing further afield when required.

It spend about £2,000 per van on equipping each with an electrical inverter, additional security locks, Bluetooth kit, laptop and tracker system. Much of this work is carried out by Advanced Vehicle Alarms, of Lewisham, south London. A £15,000 high-pressure jetting machine, which is used to unblock drains, is then fitted to each van.

“Our drivers love their new Mercedes,” he continues. “Indeed, I drive one myself, a Vito 120CDI with V6 engine, and it’s better than my Range Rover.”

Aquaflow has also been won over by Sparshatts’ service. “When we’ve had minor problems the dealer has sorted them out straight away,” adds Mr Borrett. “Their service is second to none, while the Mercedes-Benz three-year, unlimited mileage warranty and 24-hour breakdown cover is like a breath of fresh air after the problems we’ve had with other manufacturers.”

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Vito ranges combine dynamic good looks, ‘bullet-proof’ build quality, comprehensive specification and ingenious technology. Both bristle with class-leading standard safety equipment, including an advanced new version of the remarkable ESP® anti-skid system called Adaptive ESP®
